2019 Year End

Year in Review: Photo Recap

Wow! I cannot believe that 2019 is coming to an end. The end of a decade. The beginning of so much more.  There were a lot of things that happened this year. I don’t even know where to begin with sharing. So I’ve decided to compile a bunch of photos from this year into a post.

Some notable things I want to mention are:
  • We got to spend our Christmas holidays in Ireland!!!!
  • More than one family member hired me to capture them this year!
  • My son turned 1!
  • I met some of my best friends in the world!
  • My daughter turned 3!
  • My Sister in Law got married!
  • I quit my full time job to pursue photography full time, as a result I photographed SO many weddings, babies, graduations, families, couples, and lots of puppers!

And I had a REALLY awesome year. I cannot wait to see what 2020 brings. My first full year working for myself.

Here it is, my 2019 photo year in review:

Started and Ended the year with some awesome maternity sessions for gorgeous mamas:

Another gorgeous photo of my beautiful friend Sara. She rented a dress from We Are Reclamation and it was paired perfectly with her leather jacket. Slaying even though we were FROZEN.

Cold maternity sessions seem to be the only thing I do. Anyways, we specifically shot on this day because of the hoar frost. It was so worth it! Click here to see more photos from Lisa’s maternity session.

My beautiful friend Sara and Dylan are expecting their third baby. Boy or girl?! I can’t wait to find out in February!

Some Couples and Engagement Sessions:

Engagement Session in downtown Edmonton with Stacey and Jason!

So many fall photo sessions! The busiest time of year:

Thorable and Kayleigh. One of the best doggos and one of my best friends, in a beautiful Dalliance Bespoke dress at sunset. Talk about a good day!

Cassandra and Jason had engagement photos with me right before they booked a family session with Cassandra’s family! I can’t wait to see them all again at the wedding in August!!

My awesome in laws wanted to do a mother daughter photoshoot and it was a really fun day!

Couples photos for my dad and my step mom! What’s not seen is the dog running circles around us, and my kids screaming for their attention behind my back! Ha-ha!!

Probably a favourite from Jason and Cassandra’s engagement session at the Red Tin Barn. I can’t wait for their wedding!! Check out more of the photos from their session here

Newborn in home sessions:

One of my best friends from high school (homeschool) had a baby! He’s the chunkiest dude.

Another friend from junior high had a sweet baby girl! Look at that amazing RED HAIR!!!!

And after a maternity session in January, I got to take this nuggets newborn photos!

Creative Projects:

Lisa modelling for a last minute session for a travelling dress project again!

Extra Awesome Fun Things I got to do:

Watch my daughter make friends. All the kids on the Drumheller trip are besties now.

I also met some of my best friends this year. Loved getting to spend time with these ladies and our families (and Marika who I didn’t get a selfie with).

Photos of myself being awko-taco in front of the camera.

Session swaps GALORE.

Year in Review

We did a photographer meet up one day, stuck all the kids on a blanket with toys and got to take photos for each other. Networking is fun!

A fun photo using some LED lights while Katie and I were out in the park!

Corporate Events:

Another year, another QAi Shootout down in Calgary! I was so sick this day, but barely remember it because it was such a fun afternoon!

Best Wedding Moment:

The best part about Emily and Sean’s day was that they were gifted, and forced to open, these horse heads. Then, they were then bombarded with them during the first dance! I couldn’t stop laughing, and I wasn’t the only one – look at the smiles on every guest in the background of the photo.

Other Awesome Weddings:

Year in Review

This was the one of the bigger wedding parties this year, but you can’t even tell that we’d been bossing them around for close to two hours!

Alysha and Aaron at their beautiful wedding out at Hastings Lake Gardens by Sherwood Park. There were so many awesome images I would’ve loved to add to this year in review from their wedding. But we can check those out in a different post!

Sometimes you just have the most fun hanging out with the groomsmen in the morning! I shot this wedding (and a few others this year) with my bestie Kayleigh @ 16 Seasons!

Min and Matt got married at the Muttart Conservatory, right before they shut down for renovations!

First dance as husband and wife. LOVE!

A favourite from this amazing wedding at Fraser Valley Lodge.

A beautiful fall day. We had such awesome weather this fall when it finally stopped raining!

Some quiet hangs on your wedding day. 10/10 recommend. Check out more photos from their wedding at the Old Timers Cabin here

Gotta love when couples request symmetrical photos with lots of white space. Getting creative and making interesting photos on wedding days is the best!

Veil shots = money shots. Change my mind. Pro tip: You CAN’T! Just look at it!!!

Personal Life:

I was in a wedding party! It was the most fun!

Julian turned one and we had an amazing celebration at our house!

My Lydia turned 3! We had a “pink my little pony” birthday party, per her request. As a results, she won’t watch the show… Kids are ridiculous!

My beautiful cousin Faith came with her beau Dominic (who we met & loved) to visit us in Ireland. It was the best having someone who wasn’t three in front of my camera!

And one more awkward photo of me to round out the post. This was one of my favourite days trespassing to check out a castle grounds and breathe in the ocean air.

That’s about all I have to share today for my year in review! Let me know in the comments if you’d like me to share one of these year end photo compilations at the end of 2020, too!
